It Came From My Mailbox!: Teebo Time

Teebo the Clown and His Poodles of Doom #3

Postmaster Keith O'Brien kindly sent me the third issue of his jam comic, Teebo the Clown and His Poodles of Doom! Now my feelings about Teebo still stand, but Keith and a cornucopia of great cartoonists put together a mighty fine comic book! And look! There's Captain Cactus on the cover! Thanks, Postmaster!

Draw Crabby Day

Draw Crabby Day

Sadly summer is coming to a close so it's time to get Crabby! Or, better yet, it's time to draw Crabby! Yes, friends, I'm proud to announce September 19, 2015 is "Draw Crabby Day"! A recurring cast member of Mutts, a delightful and charming comic strip by Patrick McDonnell, Crabby is a crusty crustacean who isn't afraid to be cranky! Known for his salty tales and his salty language ("!@$#!!"), Crabby doesn't mind if you don't like him, but he gets mighty upset if you don't draw him! So whip out that pen, sharpen that pencil, and draw Crabby before he gets really mad! Happy "Draw Crabby Day", everyone!

Dale Martin brings Crabby and Watusi the Talking Dog together!

Postmaster Keith O'Brien finds time to celebrate "Talk Like A Pirate Day" and "Draw Crabby Day"!

Cartoonist Tom Stazer draws a salty Crabby!

Artsy Dude Jim Fields draws up a smokin' Crabby!

Ivan Martin knows who isn't coming to dinner!

Dribs and Drabs

Savage Panel Sketch

This weekend I worked on a Captain Cactus comic for Cap's creator, Keith O'Brien, and I also penciled and inked a new Oh! Those Savages comic strip. Hopefully, I'll post the strip before the end of the week.

While housesitting for some friends this weekend, I was horrified to see their hen eat some cat food. Why? The cat food contained chicken meat. Yes, Tiny the chicken is a cannibal! All she needs now is a chainsaw and she could have her own horror movie franchise. Perhaps John Oak Dalton could write it.

Worked ten hours at work today with more chances for overtime this week. Extra money always makes me happy!

Looks like I'll be learning the tango the next week or two. It's all for the play I'm currently in, The Guys.

Behind the Magic!

Captain Cactus Thumbnail
I was working on a Captain Cactus comic last night. Got to figure out where the word balloons go and finished most of the pencil work. My work was based on the thumbnail sketches up above and those thumbnail sketches were based on the thumbnail sketches from Cap's creator, Keith O'Brien.

The keywords for today's post? "Thumbnail sketches".

Teebo

Teebo

Do not hire this clown for your child's birthday party! Do not put him in your circus! Don't let him be the mascot for your fast food franchise! Teebo the clown is bad news, but he does love his poodles.

Dime Bag Comics

Dime Bag Comics

Recently cartoonist extraordinaire Dale Martin asked me to participate in a comic book anthology he was putting together that would benefit the Percolator Artspace and the Social Service League of Lawrence in Lawrence, Kansas and I said "YES!". Of course that was a few weeks ago and yesterday I received my contributor copies and I was very pleased! Dime Bag Comics is a fun book with some cool comics by some super cartoonists (Like Keith O'Brien and J.B. Winter, for example)! I'm honored to be part of such a worthy project!
