Oink!

Today's Holiday Greeting: Happy Chinese New Year! It's The Year of The Pig so break out the ribs and the pork chops!

Boob Tube: According to my friends Theresa and Joe, a commercial for the Muncie Civic is airing locally that features the cast of Moon Over Buffalo which includes me. I have yet to see it, but I remember it was filmed during one of our later rehearsals. Though I dread to see how I appear in the spot, it's kind of nice to know I'm back haunting the local airwaves. It's been a couple of years since I stop making my little public access show and I miss knowing my massive mug could be seen in someone's unsuspecting TV set every Thursday night at eleven. Glory days...

Cruel Nicknames I Have Given People at Work: Moose. Swamp Witch. King Zombie. Grandpa Woman. Little Frigidaire.

Question of The Day: Is it me or does prefecture sound more impressive than state?

Current TV Crush: Last week's episode of The Office involving the bat was chockfull of comic bliss. From the pandemonium of the bat "attack" (Especially Angela's roll on the floor) to Michael's candy bar lecture to Pam's heartbreaking art show turnout (I think we both painted the same cup), the episode had all its bases covered and hit a homerun. Bonus points for the great use of Creed and Meredith. All comedies should be this good.

Desperately Seeking Studio

Snow Day 2: Got another day off from Touchy Feely, thanks to the aftermath of the big snow. Like Tuesday, I called and nobody answered at the lab. Actually, I did get the answering machine that huskily announced "Message Full". Despite the county snow emergency, I eventually braved the roads to get something to eat and they weren't that bad so I'm thinking my snow day streak is about to end. Oh, well, it was nice while it lasted.

Something Cool, Something Sad: Earlier this week I received an e-mail from a teacher. Apparently she was setting up some field trips for her students and she wondered if it was possible for them to visit my studio and if I could discuss the ins and outs of being a professional cartoonist. Well, since I have no studio and I'm currently far from being a professional cartoonist, I had to write her back and tell her I wasn't exactly what she was looking for. Tough break all around.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!: My cousin Tim worked as an extra in last night's episode of Friday Night Lights. He was one of the football players. I think this was the third episode that he actually worked on, but I couldn't tell if he got any screen time or not. From what Tim has told me, being an extra for the show doesn't pay much, but they do feed him well, he's learning how an actual TV show operates, and he's read some good books between takes. Here's a fun tidbit: After a night shoot, a bus full of football player extras broke into a sing along involving songs from Rent and High School Musical.

Astronaut Diapers

Snow Day: As I write this, a foot of snow is drifting about outside as a winter storm tries to slip out of the state. Blizzard type conditions ravaged Tuesday and I ended up not going to work. I called Touchy Feely to see if they were open for business before I plowed my way in, but nobody answered so I deducted they were probably closed for the day. Like the ancient snow days in my past, I spent my free time watching TV and doing as little as possible.

Question of The Day: Do all British actors eventually get knighted?

Old News:
Adult Swim shut down a major metropolitan area (Name withheld to protect the misguided), an astronaut brought shame to everyone who wears adult diapers, and the media found another exquisite(?) corpse to feast upon.

Finally:

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm Not Your Stealer Partner

The Sad Facts of Life (Sort of Like That Episode Where Natalie Was Portrayed as Being Loose): No matter how busy my life is with activity and excitement, I will not blog about any of it. On the other hand, I could have all the time in the world and I would still find an excuse not to blog. Shameful, shameful behavior! Mrs. Garrett would not be proud.

What I Learned Today: Comedians Sarah Silverman and Laura Silverman are sisters. Huh!

Moon Glow: So we're into the second week of Moon Over Buffalo and Thursday's show went pretty swimmingly with some nice snap that belied the fact we were off for three days. We got a positive review in Wednesday's paper which is always nice. I don't know if good reviews effect ticket sales, but they're always nice on the ego.

Last week during rehearsals, I pulled something along the calf of my right leg which caused some swelling and some hobbling. My limp is not as pronounced this week, but my foot has swollen to look like a giant baby's foot which delights me to no end.
