Yesterday's Comic Haul (5/16/15)

Astro City #23
Batman '66 #22
Princess Ugg #7
SpongeBob Comics #44
The Walking Dead #141
Purchased at Bob's Comic Castle. Total amount: $18 and change
Notes- Welcome back, "Comic Haul" fans! It's been many moons since I posted one of these, but rest assured I've bought quite a few comics since now and then!...A rather ho-hum bunch this time around with the standout being Astro City. Kurt Busiek continues his winning streak!
Although I'm sure many hands went into Barnacle Boy's creation, I'm giving credit to Stephen Hillenburg.

Yesterday's Comic Haul (4/12/14)

Astro City #11   Rocky and Bullwinkle #2   SpongeBob Comics #31   The Walking Dead #125   Purchased at Bob's Comic Castle. Total cost: $14.98   Notes- I have to admit I’ve been shirking my blogger duties in regard to my recent comic hauls. With my laptop freezing at the drop of the hat nowadays (Some days are better than others, of course), sometimes it’s better to surf the web than provide new content. Anyway that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it…Saturday’s purchases felt ho-hum collectively. Astro City was lightweight to me (Nice cover tho!), The “All Out War” storyline in The Walking Dead appears to be ending in a whimper (That's how Negan goes down? Really?), and, despite a Mermaid Man story with art by Ramona Fradon, SpongeBob has been lacking its usual thrills the last issue or two. Only Rocky and Bullwinkle provided any pep so I name it the winner of this haul!   Mermaid Man was created by Stephen Hillenburg.

Yesterday's Comic Haul (6/22/13)

Legion of Super-Heroes #21   Sergio Aragones Funnies #8   SpongeBob Annual-Size Super-Giant Swimtacular #1   10 Polypropylene Comic Book Bags   Purchased at Bob's Comic Castle. Total amount: $13.03   Notes- A small, but great comic haul ths time around with the long awaited return of Sergio and the debut of the Swimtacular!...Nice to see some Ramona Fradon's artwork on Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy... The highlight of Sergio Aragones Funnies was Sergio's story about a trip to Mexico with Mad Magazine's Usual Gang of Idiots. I always enjoy his autobiographical work and this story was no exception. Plus I love the way he draws Bill Gaines!...This haul's winner? I declare a tie between Sergio and Swimtacular!   Mermaid Man was created by Stephen Hillenburg.

Recent Comic Hauls (11/18/12 & 11/24/12)

1963 Book Six: Tomorrow Syndicate   Herc #1   Jonny Quest #6   Jonny Quest #12   Legion of Super-Heroes #14   Popeye #7   Sergio Aragones Groo the Wanderer #54   SpongeBob Comics #14   The Goon #43   The Mighy Magnor #2   The Unwritten #43   The Walking Dead #104   30 Polypropylene Comic Book Bags   Purchased at Bob's Comic Castle. Total cost: $24.19   Note- Found some interesting things in the dollar bins. Bob had a decent amount of Groo back issues lurking around in the bins this past month and I was hoping to grab some more this week, but somebody snagged them all. Makes me wish I grabbed more when I had the chance. Oh, well! That's life in the bins!...This haul's winner was Popeye (An all Roger Langridge issue!) with Walking Dead coming up second. SpongeBob had the best cover.

Yesterday's Comic Haul (11/3/12)
