Indy Radio

Tom Cherry's Old Time Radio Show

Tom Cherry's Old Time Radio Show hit the road on March 31 and performed in Foundation Hall at the Marquette Retirement Community in Indianapolis! In front of a rather sizable crowd (Nearly a hundred or so), we recreated a classic script from Fibber McGee and Molly and then we introduced our attentive audience to The Happy Hoppy Hopper Show and The Mayor of Farmland. Jerry and Judy Cole sang a bit and then we had one of our best contestants on It Pays to Be Ignorant basically steal the show away from us (Thank you, Ethel Booth, for allowing us to take it back!). It was a great experience and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I know I certainly did!

Thanks to Marilyn Martin and Casey Wente for their kindness and care as they opened their wonderful facility to us! And more thanks to our wonderful cast and crew (Wendy Carpenter, Sean Heline, Gabe Carpenter, Bob Green, Katy Wolfe, Jerry and Judy Cole, and Lindsey Cox) for creating another hour of pure radio fun! They truly are the best, folks, and it's always an honor to be in their company!

Hopefully we'll have more opportunities to take the show on the road in the near future! I'm already looking forward to it!

A Sign of Things to Come

Shoemaker and His Wife

If you're planning on seeing Julie Lyn Barber's The Elves and The Shoemaker on December 14 and 21 at the Farmland Center then expect to see something like this on stage. By the by, that's me on the left as the Shoemaker's Wife and that's Kasey Cummins (a.k.a. "Princess") on the right as the Shoemaker.

Wallhangers

Art Exhibit 2013

Here's a photo of some my comic strips at the From the Stage to the Walls art exhibit at the Farmland Center. The exhibit officially opens today with a reception at 1-4pm. Unfortunately, I have an audition for God of Carnage at the Muncie Civic at the same time so I will be a bit tardy to the reception. Fortunately, Sean Orlosky and Wendy Carpenter will be on hand to converse with the patrons. A busy Saturday afternoon for the fat cartoonist!

From the Stage to the Walls

From the Stage to the Walls

Here's a promotional piece for an upcoming art exhibit at the Farmland Center that will feature the work of Sean Orlosky, Wendy Carpenter, and myself. Sean and Wendy will provide the brilliant paintings while I'll be bringing the toons. Eight of my strips to be exact and each one is up for sale if anybody wants to part with some of their currency. I haven't exhibited any of my stuff in a long time so I'm excited to be sharing wall space with the talented Sean and Wendy. Come one, come all!
