The Tom Cherry Experience

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Observation: If you ever find yourself working at Touchy Feely Fotos (And Odin help you if you do!), be prepared to share space with a bunch of people who never have anything to say, but they say it anyway.

Critical Mass: This past month I have experienced the diversity that the Muncie Civic Theater often provides. Early in March, I witnessed the Dust Bowl days of The Great Depression in The Grapes of Wrath, an American tragedy brought to life by a superb cast (Including the always great Judy and Jerry Cole!). Then last Saturday, Grandma and I enjoyed the goofy charms of a TV theme song cabaret that featured the charismatic talents of Jeff Shull, one of the kindest gents in regional theater. Bravo to the Civic for its wide range of programming and to all the talented folks who make it a reality!

Sad Realization: Though my comic strip has been running in The Star Press for nearly eight years, the classifieds gets more fan mail.

Mission Control: Hey, it looks like I'm going to S.P.A.C.E. this year with screenwriter extraordinaire, John Oak Dalton. Yay!

Today's TV Quote: "Why don't we call it a day? It's pretty hot out and you're coughing stuff up." - Andy Barker (Andy Barker, PI)

Vomit Free Since '93

Reading: I Shouldn't Even Be Doing This by Bob Newhart

Current TV Crush: How I Met Your Mother has charmed its way into my sitcom-loving heart, thanks to some smart writing and an engaging cast. Plus Jason Segel and Alyson Hannigan play the cutest couple on TV. The Office is still my favorite sitcom at the moment, but Mother is a close second.

Nicknames I Have Given to The Place I Work: The Fun Factory, The Pit, Loserville, Touchy Feely Fotos

Magazines I Would Subscribe to if I Had The Money: The New Yorker, Wired, Outside, Cricket

Trailer Trash: Will Farrell's Blades of Glory looks like something designed for Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, but they eventually turned it down. By the way, isn't Jon Heder's fifteen minutes over yet?

Question of The Day: Whatever happened to The Log Lady?

Good-bye, Larry:

I don't have a studio.

I'm enjoying The Shins' new album.

Captain America is supposed to be dead. Act surprised when he returns.

I still haven't finished my syndication package.

Nick Grove got a new haircut.

Eric Whetsel got a new job.

I recently got some cool comics from Dale Martin, Pam Bliss, Winter, Keith O'Brien, and Billy McKay.

I liked Little Miss Sunshine, but I wanted to like it more than I did.

A new showerhead can change your life.

I need to buy a ticket for The Grapes of Wrath.

I renewed my subscription to Entertainment Weekly.

I need to read more books.

I tried to make a peanut butter sandwich, but the bread was all moldy.

They only dedicate the yearbooks to the popular dead kids.
