All Together Ooky

The Bride and Jambi

Tom Cherry’s Old Time Radio Show celebrates Halloween this Saturday (October 27, 2018) at the Farmland Community Center! The thrills and chills begin with a classic episode of Suspense based on the work of Ray Bradbury and then it’s the return of Mister Halloween, an original series of scary tales! The talented cast includes Wendy Carpenter, Gabe Carpenter, Bob Green, Missy Donahue, Katy Wolfe, Angela Gick, Jeff Shull, Rita Wessel, Larry Beck, sound effects men Jerry Cole and Thomas Nelson III, and special guest stars, Debby Girtman and Cliff Lowe!

An unlucky audience member will also get a chance to play It Pays to be Creepy and the musical talents of Gabe and Wendy Carpenter will be featured!  Audience members are encouraged to dress in costume and to participate in the show’s fifth annual prize winning costume contest as well!

That’s October 27 at 3:00 pm at the Farmland Community Center (100 N. Main St, Farmland, Indiana)! Tickets are just a dollar! Popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase. For more information, call 765-468-7631. Radio fun for everyone!

Richard Scarry's Busytown

The Bride and Jambi

It's been busy around these parts! Finally finished the script for Swann Song Christmas (Opening December 5), Chiller Thriller Theatre with Basil Q. Mylk-Bone debuted this past Friday and ran during the weekend, and we celebrated Halloween on Tom Cherry's Old Time Radio Show this past Saturday (In the picture up above, that's the delightful Angela Gick as the Bride of Frankenstein and a certain fat cartoonist as Jambi the Genie with Mr. Jerry Cole in the background)! The Halloween show was a great success with our first costume contest and a Farmland Center packed with an incredible audience. Busy, but fun times!

Those Thrilling Days of Yesteryear

The Cast of Tom Cherry's Old Time Radio Show (5/18/14)

The Radio Gang (Front row (L-r): Missy Donahue, Wendy Carpenter, Angela Gick, Judy Cole, and Katy Wolfe. Back row (L-r): Jeff Shull, Gabe Carpenter, Bob Green, Me (Proof I have a face for radio!), and Jerry Cole)

Recently Tom Cherry's Old Time Radio Show expanded a bit in prime time and offered a buffet of desserts for a series of shows that ran on the weekends from Mother's Day to May 25. Despite having a variety of fun scripts performed by the most talented cast around (The best radio cast since Mercury Theatre by gum!), the shows didn't draw much of a crowd. Sadly it was a bust audience wise, but we all certainly had a grand time on stage and I continue to be blessed by being in the company of such remarkable folks who come together every now and then to play radio in Farmland. Thanks again to all those brave souls who ventured out to see us (Next time bring all of your friends! Please!), to the wonderful cooks and bakers who made our delicious treats, and most of all to my dear friends in the radio gang who inspire me with their talent and their kindness!

And remember a new episode of Tom Cherry's Old Time Radio Show debuts every fourth Saturday of the month at the Farmland Center @ 3:00pm! Hope to see you on the radio!
