Sleeping Dog

Sleeping Dog

I didn't do much blogging this past month. I don't know about you, but January 2015 wasn't the greatest month for me. Car problems, computer problems, and money problems junked things up. Plus my workplace keeps annoying me like a toothache that won't go away. On the positive side, the radio show at the Muncie Delaware County Senior Center was a success and I did get to hang out with some of my friends throughout the month. Still I'm glad January is waltzing out the door. Here's hoping the next eleven months of 2015 are more promising!

Easter Weekend

This past weekend I did some petsitting/housesitting for a couple of friends. Besides feeding dogs, cats, and fish, I spent most of my time Saturday night watching the first season of Mad Men and the Coen brothers' A Serious Man. Good times in front of the TV!

In the morning, there was no sign of the Easter Beagle, but I did search around the house for "gifts" a blind, old cat left for me to pick up. This eventually led to a toilet plugged up with cat poop. Happy Easter!

Stray Thoughts/Stale Tweets (January and February 2013)

Swann Song opened last night and I heard it had a great opening night. I'm a proud Papa!

Stale waffles make lousy snowshoes.

One of these days I'm going to draw every one of the background cab drivers on Taxi just to prove that I can.

Group hugs are lame if your stuffed animals don't hug back.

I'm often afraid my Captain Caveman and The Teen Angels fanfic will never get the attention it deserves.

You know what modern horror movies are missing nowadays? Angry villagers with torches.

Tempted to write a children's book called Baby Skunk's Fresh Diaper to answer the eternal question: What swells worse? A skunk or skunk poop?

I'm also tempted to jump on the Tumblr bandwagon because all the cool kids seem to flock there.

Last week I came across a kid named "Brady Bunch". Parents can be so cruel!

Done and Done!

Well, it's done! The script for my first full length show is finished. It's called Swann Song and it will premiere at the Farmland Center in March under the direction and guidance of Judy and Jerry Cole! More details to follow.

15 Days In and I'm Not Impressed

2013 hasn't started out on the right foot. Things at work are slower than usual for this time of year so I've been working less hours and making less money. And because of all of that I had to drop out of The Odd Couple. What else? The hot water heater seems to be acting wonky. And I just found out IDW is canceling Popeye so there goes my monthly Roger Langridge fix! Boo, 2013! Clean up your act or I'm demanding a recall!

Going Postal

I'm on the verge of sending all my Christmas comics off to mailboxes across the land. Just have a few more to put in the mail tomorrow and hopefully they'll arrive on Christmas Eve day for some folks. I'm pretty pleased with how the comics turned out. I just hope people find them entertaining! Fingers crossed!

Status Report

Previously: Just a few weeks ago, I was on a cruise ship filming my cousin Tim marry his beautiful fiancee Emily while their family and friends happily watched. Soon after, the ship departed for Jamaica and Grand Cayman. Thus began an enjoyable and relaxing week at sea.

Currently: I'm back home in Indiana (Yeesh! Did I really just type that?) where I'm in rehearsals for Big River (I play Pap Finn) and occassionally appearing in front of a camera for Blood Bath and Beyond, a horror film Ball State is making. I play the foul husband to the always great Wanita Spence. We make such a great couple. Too bad she kills me in the end.

Coming Soon: Hopefully, I'll be cranking out some comic strips, updating this blog, and making a comic book or two. In the fall, I'll be appearing in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (I really need to go over my lines for that soon) and in the Christmas sequel to Smoke on the Mountain (I miss the Sanders family! I truly do!).

And Now: I post this to my sadly neglected blog.

Congratulations again, Tim and Emily!
