Dear Archie, I think your show is great. My boyfriend had just finished watching it with me when he said he had to go into town. (My birthday is on March 27th). He came back later with a huge package. I opened it, and inside was Sugar Sugar, Bang-Shang-A-Lang, Feelin' So Good, and your new out-a-site album.

Your show is by far the best cartoon on Saturday morning and I wait all week for it. I just love the whole gang. It's just like I know them. They have such groovy adventures and when they do something funny, I laugh so hard that I can't hold your comic books.

In an ideal world where I was able to make as many comic books as I wanted, Call to Battle would be one of my continuing series. Mainly inspired by The Brave and the Bold (Especially the Bob Haney stories), Call to Battle would feature superhero team-ups with John Oak Dalton's Giraffe Man (One of my favorite superheroes!) serving in the Batman position. Here's a cover to an issue that doesn't exist. In this particular issue, GM meets Dale Martin's The Human Spring for the very first time!

I came up with an idea for Green Acres where Arnold is charged with treason and the Ziffels hire Mr. Douglas to defend him in court. Of course, Oliver doesn't want to take the case since he can't stand Arnold, but Lisa changes his mind. It would be a two-parter that ends in the Supreme Court and the hilarity would surely ensue! Oh, if it was only 1968! That could have been my spec script!

Character Spotlight: Ghostly Ghost

I have a lot of characters that live in my head. Only a small minority of them end up being used in my work while the rest swim in and out of my imagination, waiting for the chance to come to life on paper. Of course, for this little guy, coming to life would be an extra challenge since he's supposed to be dead.

The idea of Ghostly Ghost came to me a few years ago while doodling some ghosts and monsters. He's the ghost of a little known vaudevillian comedian that haunts a run-down hotel somewhere in New England. When the hotel gets bought and refurbished, Ghostly befriends the young daughter of the new owner and thus his comic adventures begin! Of course, that has yet to happen since Ghostly has only appeared in my sketchbooks thus far.

Maybe one day Ghostly Ghost will get his chance! And, if he does, I might have to work on getting him a better name!

The Putnam County Middle School gymnasium (You know, the one with the proscenium arch?) is no more. The bleachers can no longer spin around because they no longer exist. The Pet Rocks have made way for the southern belles of Steel Magnolias. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is now part of Muncie Civic Theatre history. All good things must come to an end. Damn it. However, it was one hell of a ride! Thank you to Craig, Phoebe, Michael, Laura, Scott, Jabrael, Chris, Lisa, Cody, Hannah, Cailtin, Hyunyoung, Jason, Jennifer, Ian, Nathan, Jacob, Todd, The Mighty Joe Skeen, Bob, Jorge, Dave, Mr. Todd Sandman, Annie, Pip, all of our wonderful guest spellers, and our small, but oh so mighty, mighty audience for being part of this grand adventure!
