The 5th Season Begins!

Tom Cherry’s Old Time Radio Show begins its fifth season this Saturday at the Farmland Community Center as it proudly presents Jane Austen’s classic tale, Pride and Prejudice (Sorry, kids, no zombies)! Plus a new chapter in our thrilling cowboy serial, The Happy Hoppy Hopper Show! Starring the best radio cast since Mercury Theatre: Sean Orlosky, Wendy Carpenter, Sean Heline, Bob Green, Angela Gick, Jeff Shull, Jeff Rapkin, our soundman and soundwoman, Jerry and Judy Cole, and our special guest star, Donna McFadden!

A lucky contestant will also play It Pays to be Ignorant, we pay tribute to Bob Elliott with a classic Bob and Ray skit, and the singing talents of Wendy Carpenter and Sean Heline will be featured!

That’s February 27th at 3:00 pm at the Farmland Community Center (100 N. Main St, Farmland, Indiana)! Tickets are just a dollar! Popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase. For more information, call 765-468-7631. Radio fun for everyone!

Main Stage Cabaret

The radio gang performed at the Main Street Cabaret last night (2/20/16) with a vast array of talented folks! We presented our Thanksgiving classic, A Jive Turkey Thanksgiving. We had a great deal of fun, on stage and off, and we hope the audience had a good time as well! Thanks once again to Sean Orlosky, Sean Heline, Bob Green, Missy Donahue, Angela Gick, Jeff Shull, Jeffrey Rapkin, and Kristin Wolfe for being such amazing people and for creating radio magic wherever they go! More thanks to Kathleen Rapkin and Bonnie Jordan for their help and kindness!

Every time I watch Waiting for Guffman, I always feel sorry for Libby at the end. While the others are off pursuing their dreams, deluded as they may be, poor Libby is back where she started. A different DQ, but stuck in the same rut of a life. Her passion for acting is over and her beloved mentor has returned to toil in New York (Which is really an island with lots of people, lots of different people). Damn it! I love you, Libby Mae Brown, and I want you to live!
